Gluten-Free Book by Elizabeth Hasselbeck from “The View”

Elizabeth Hasselbeck’s book, “The G Free Diet” was one of the first books I read on Gluten Free eating after I was diagnosed in 2009. My mother in law had seen Hasselbeck talk about the book on The View and suggested I read it.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck, co-host of ABC’s “The View,” was diagnosed with Celiac disease. Celiac patients produce an autoimmune reaction to gluten, causing inflammation in the gastrointestinal and bowel tracts.

Celiac patients can have an increased risk of cancer of the small intestine and lymphoma of the small bowel due to the body’s fight against gluten proteins. No medication has effectively prevented the body’s attack, therefore a gluten-free diet is the only known effective treatment.

Because newly diagnosed patients face sudden dietary changes, Hasselbeck is sharing her favorites with her fans in a new book called “The G Free Diet.”
